This Privacy Policy explains how GMD Holdco (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in the MedPrice — Medicine Price Registry mobile application (“MedPrice” or “the app”). It applies to the Android and iOS app with the application identifier za.co.gmd.medicinepriceregistry.

Summary

MedPrice does not require an online account and does not send your app activity or locally saved information to a MedPrice server. The medicine database is included with the app, so its core search and comparison features work offline. We do not sell personal information, show advertising, use advertising identifiers, or include third-party analytics or crash-reporting services.

Information stored on your device

MedPrice may store the following information locally on your device:

• Medicines you save and select for comparison.
• Recent searches and an app search counter.
• Which in-app notices you have marked as read.
• Notification and reduced-motion preferences.
• Profile information you choose to enter, such as your display name, email address, telephone number, and location.

This information is used only to provide and personalise features in the app. It is not uploaded to us. Depending on your device and operating-system settings, the platform provider may include app preferences in a device or cloud backup. Those backups are controlled by you and the platform provider, not by MedPrice.

Information we do not collect through the app

MedPrice does not collect or access your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health records, payment information, or advertising ID. It does not track you across other apps or websites.

Information you choose to share

MedPrice provides two features that involve another app:

• Share a medicine: MedPrice opens the operating system’s share sheet with medicine information. The destination you select handles that information under its own privacy policy.
• Contact support: MedPrice opens your email app with a draft message. If you send the message, we receive your sender address and the content you provide. We use it to respond to and resolve your request.

We do not receive information from either feature unless you choose a destination or send the email.

Legal basis and retention

Local app information is processed at your request to provide the features you choose to use. It remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app, subject to any backup retained by your platform provider.

When you contact support, we process the correspondence to respond to your request and for our legitimate interest in operating and improving MedPrice. We keep it only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or to meet a legal obligation.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent, or use personal information for targeted advertising. We do not share locally stored app information because we do not receive it. Support correspondence may be handled by the service providers used to deliver and store email, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards, or disclosed when required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can remove the information MedPrice stores locally by selecting Profile → Privacy & Security → Clear local data. You can also remove the app and its local data by uninstalling it. Manage or delete device backups through your operating-system account settings.

If you have contacted support, you may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information in that correspondence, subject to applicable law. Send your request to leroy@gmdholdco.com. South African users may also have rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), including the right to complain to the Information Regulator.

Security

MedPrice uses the standard storage protections supplied by Android and iOS for local app preferences. No method of storage is completely secure, so you should protect access to your device. Email sent to support is protected according to the security provided by the email services involved.

Children

MedPrice is a medicine-pricing reference intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app.

Medicine and pricing disclaimer

MedPrice is an information tool, not a pharmacy or a source of medical advice. Prices and dispensing-fee rules can change, and the app is only as current as the registry bundled with the installed version. Confirm prices with a pharmacy and consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting, stopping, or substituting medication.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when MedPrice or applicable requirements change. We will revise the date above and publish the updated policy at the same public location. Material changes may also be described in the app’s release notes.
